First Mitkhui went into one of its ears and came out the other ear, he was gleaming, there were beautiful clothes on him and everything. Melesnik entered an ear, too, and came out the other ear. Once there lived seven girls, seven girls. The time came to gather berries, they went to gather berries. Across the sea. They went and went. They came to a wooded land, full of berries. They went with full buckets, they filled the buckets. Suddenly one girl came, looked, and saw wood grouse nestlings. She saw the wood-grouse nestlings and the older sisters said: “Come one, there are seven nestlings, let’s take all seven nestlings. We’ll cook them.” The wood grouse had taken wing and flown off. The girls went and roasted the wings of these nestlings in a pot. They ate them up and the wood grouse flew back and started to search, but there were no nestlings. The seven girls had cooked and eaten them.
