Oh, he entered the house. A woman was sitting, like the sun. Behind her back some sort of man was sleeping. His feet were visible, you could tell it was a man because of the boots. A sort of old man was sitting and at his head a raven was tied, his head was all in dung, like in ink. An old woman was lying, at her head a crow was tied, her head, like ink, all in filth, the crow had soiled everything so. The town hero’s son dressed, took his bow and arrows, belted up, disappeared on the path through the old man’s mouth, vanished or went out. He went for a long or a short time and came out of the opening of the old woman’s mouth. He rolled out and brought a reindeer calf. He had just killed it, it was still as good as alive, fresh. He threw it on the floor, skinned it, cut off the meat and placed it into the washtub. He put out one woman’s knife, he put out one man’s knife. He said to the guest who had come: “Go, search for an eating companion,” said the town hero’s son.
