The young man arrived, entered the house. He had killed even more than the day before, whatever animals there are, sable, squirrel. They ate and drank. He skinned the animals and hung them up to dry. So, what happened? Night fell, once again it was time to sleep. The old man did not fall asleep, he kept on thinking: “My hunter has fallen asleep, he’s weary, all day long he hunted. He’s asleep and snoring.” The old man thought: “Yesterday I cut his throat. If I chop him off at the shoulder, where the heart is, from the heart, he won’t ever come back to life.” Then he got his axe ready and from the side where the heart is he cut the sleeping youth, the young hunter in two. Afterwards he thought: “If I bring home so many skins, my wife will kiss me.” That is what the old man thought.
