While fishing in the Tundra, the narrator and his friend Gena find a musk-rat in his fishing net. The narrator skins it and hangs it on a tree branch to dry, with a view to eat it later. However, when a gush of wind makes the dead animal fall on the ground, it is devoured by the narrator’s greedy dog.
